Artist's Statement

 I have presented a brief selection of works drawn from the last few years. From large scale oil paintings to the more delicate ballpoint pen drawings which gives a general overview of the selected mediums I work with.

I present a personal mythology that walks a fine line between tragedy, joy and humour, where i take the viewer into a curious world of the unknown. This alternate world is populated by unfathomable creatures and strange characters that inhabit somewhat unnerving scenarios . 

I avoid fixed meanings in favour of implying a narrative where none exists, to allude to actions that possibly have no results. While leading the viewer into this bizarre existence, they become aware that the feelings they are experiencing are at arms length, and possibly unattainable, but somehow very familiar. Thats where the magic exists, in that tension. By their very nature, the works invite debate and personal investigation, which can allow the viewer to abandon literal explanations in favour of deeper more intimate interpretations.
